A Private Retreat for Two

A place to step away from schedules, expectations and everyday noise. Just the two of you, an entire chalet and the freedom to spend your time exactly as you choose.

Time together, on your own terms

The best escapes for two do not need a full itinerary. They need space, privacy and a place where nothing competes for attention. A private retreat in the Austrian Alps can mean many things: long days in the mountains, quiet hours by the pool, dinner by the fire, skiing in winter or swimming in one of Carinthia’s lakes in summer. At CHALET FALK, the real luxury lies in being able to choose your own rhythm.

Set in the heart of the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve, the chalet is always reserved exclusively for one party. Around 250 m² of interior space, more than 1,600 m² of private grounds, four suites, a private spa, panoramic sauna and a 33 °C outdoor pool. Even when you stay as a couple, the entire retreat is yours alone.

Space to be together

Daily life is often defined by schedules, obligations and constant availability. Time away changes that. You wake up without somewhere else to be. Breakfast lasts as long as the conversation does. A walk becomes a longer hike. An afternoon by the pool replaces the plans you thought you needed.

At CHALET FALK, privacy creates that freedom naturally. There are no other guests, no shared areas and no fixed schedules. Breakfast is delivered to the chalet in the morning. After that, the day is entirely your own. For two people, a large private chalet is not about excess. It is about having room to move, room to pause and room to simply be together.

A chalet for two. And no one else.

Many places described as private retreats are still part of a larger hotel or resort. CHALET FALK follows a different idea. The lounge with its open fireplace, the kitchen, the terraces, the garden beside the Oswalder Bach, the pool, the sauna and the relaxation room all belong exclusively to you.

No crowded breakfast room. No shared spa. No reserved loungers. No need to adapt to anyone else’s rhythm. That level of privacy changes the way a stay feels. Life becomes quieter, decisions become simpler and time feels more spacious. Perhaps one of the rarest luxuries of travelling as a couple is having an exceptional place entirely to yourselves.

Private wellness, entirely on your terms

Wellness can be restorative, until it comes with a schedule. At CHALET FALK, the spa experience remains completely private. The heated outdoor pool, panoramic sauna and relaxation area belong only to you. Start the morning with a few quiet laps in warm water, return from a hike and go straight into the sauna, or stay outside until the light disappears behind the mountains.

There is no opening time, no booking slot and no shared silence. Massages and private yoga sessions can also be arranged directly at the chalet. This turns a classic wellness break for two into something more personal: time that follows your own rhythm rather than someone else’s programme.

Romance without the performance

Romance is often overdesigned. Flowers arranged for effect, champagne packages and carefully timed moments. Real closeness needs less. Cooking together, standing barefoot beside the stream, coming back from the mountains and going straight into the sauna, reading by the fire, listening to music or talking late into the evening.

CHALET FALK creates space for these moments without trying to stage them. Reclaimed wood, natural materials, warm textiles and clean architectural lines create a calm atmosphere, while large windows open the house towards the surrounding landscape. The place sets the frame. What happens within it remains entirely personal.

Between mountains and lakes

Every couple has a different idea of time well spent. For some, it begins early on the mountain. Others prefer a slow morning and several hours by the pool. Some come for skiing, others for hiking, biking, golf or long summer days by the water. The location of CHALET FALK gives you that freedom.

Hiking and biking routes begin in the surrounding Nockberge. In winter, Bad Kleinkirchheim and St. Oswald offer direct access to one of Carinthia’s best-known ski areas. Golf courses, lakes and restaurants are all within easy reach. A day can begin on the mountain and end by the pool, with skiing in the morning and sauna in the afternoon, a long hike followed by dinner at the chalet or simply a full day without leaving at all. Freedom here is not about doing more. It is about choosing less, and choosing it well.

A table for two

Food often becomes one of the strongest memories of a journey. At CHALET FALK, the day starts with breakfast delivered directly to the chalet. Later, you decide: cook together in the fully equipped kitchen, discover one of Carinthia’s restaurants or spend the evening completely privately.

A private dinner or Private Chef experience can also be arranged directly at the chalet. The large dining table in the Falk Lounge then becomes perhaps the most exclusive table of the journey. No drive, no neighbouring table and no need to leave. Just good food and an evening that ends when you decide it should.

Every season has its own rhythm

A private retreat for two feels different throughout the year. Winter brings snow, skiing, sauna and evenings by the open fire. Summer opens the days towards hiking, biking, golf, lakes and long evenings outside. Spring and autumn are quieter, with clear air, empty trails, changing light and days that ask for less planning.

There is no single best season for a retreat for two. The right time is the one that suits your own rhythm.

The rare luxury of simply being a couple

In everyday life, people are rarely only one thing. They are parents, entrepreneurs, managers, hosts, organisers, partners and friends, often several of these at once. A retreat for two creates distance from those roles. For a few days, there is nothing to coordinate and no one else to consider. Only time, space and the freedom to spend both well.

»For me, the real luxury of travelling as a couple is not about constantly doing more. «, says Daniel, host at CHALET FALK. »It is about having an exceptional place entirely to yourselves and, for a few days, nothing you have to do.«

Perhaps that is what makes a private retreat for two truly valuable. Not more plans. More time for each other.
